Installation Tips for the HESS Apps
WARNING - PLEASE READ: You should never try to use a HESS App or APK downloaded or acquired from ANY source other than www.BetterNurseEducation.com.
APK files can be deceiving and can contain malicious content. The genuine HESS Apps contain no ads or malware and will never ask for
personal information or payment of any kind. The genuine HESS Apps use only Bluetooth BLE Beacons to communicate during operation and require
no cloud connection or cloud credentials/login. Please be careful.
The HESS Apps can be installed by providing the Android tablet access to the APK files in the Freeware section of
the www.BetterNurseEducation.com web site.
NOTE: Some organizations will not allow access to APK files via their networks. If your organization prohibits access to APK
files, most home Internet connections or mobile cell phone Hotspot connections will allow access to the APK files.
The Android tablet should allow installation of apps from "Unknown Sources". This may need to be specifically set in
the tablet Settings.
There are several ways that the Android tablet can access the APK files for installation:

Visit the Freeware section of www.BetterNurseEducation.com from the Chrome browser app on the tablet. Touch the APK
file names to install.

Download the APK files to a PC. Then attach the Android tablet to the PC as a storage device. Copy the APK files from the
PC to the tablet (for example to the tablet's Downloads folder). Detach the tablet from the PC. Use the tablet's File Manager App
or Settings/Storage to navigate to the folder containing the APK files. Touch the APK file names to install.

Download the APK files to a flash drive. Attach the flash drive to the Android tablet's USB port with a suitable USB adapter cable
that allows flash drive attachment to the tablet. Use the tablet's File Manager App or Settings/Storage to navigate to the flash
drive storage location containing the APK files. Touch the APK file names to install.
After touching an APK file name - the Android app installation process will begin.

Allow the installation of older apps and apps from "Unknown Sources".

Turn off Google Play Protect and Decline any offers to turn it on during the installation.

Allow any app permissions requested by the installation process.
