The Story:

 

Christy Davis, LSOT, IHC is a Lead Simulationist within OhioHealth Learning - a element of OhioHealth with the mission to "Inspire personal and professional excellence through innovative learning." As an experienced simulationist, Christy knows all about how to educate healthcare professionals with Active Learning and Simulation approaches - and that is definitely a part of "innovative learning".

But where Christy also shines is in "inspiring" others within OhioHealth to participate in the mission as well. In addition to conducting education in her own Sim Lab, Christy carries the "innovative learning" outbound to facilities and educators all over the OhioHealth system - leveraging her own expertise by helping others to conduct their own "innovative learning".

And that is where the HESS really helps Christy. The affordability, portability and ease of use of the HESS make it the perfect option to spread the capability of technology enabled innovative learning throughout the system. Whether it is physician or nurse education, in a big city or a small town facility, in a Sim Lab or "in situ" in a unit, Christy makes the "innovative learning" happen. And with the HESS, Christy can leave behind the tools to let those she is helping continue with the "innovative learning" on their own.

Christy plays just about any role required - from a T3 "train the trainer" role when sharing her expertise with a unit based Nurse Educator, to consulting on the design of a learning exercise, to actually playing a patient in an exercise when needed.
